Scholarship

Take a moment to think about the impact your collegiate experience has had on your life. If you are like most alumnae, being in Greek Life has made a lasting impression and created a lifelong network of friends and sisterhood. Now, you have a chance to help others do the same.

Each year, the Washington, DC Alumnae Panhellenic Association presents a scholarship to young women who have demonstrated their outstanding commitment to NPC's core values of friendship, leadership, service, knowledge, integrity, and community in their daily lives.

We hope you will join us in our effort to honor the outstanding work of our Panhellenic sisters. If you would like more information about the scholarship or the Washington, D.C. Alumnae Panhellenic Organization, please feel free to contact us at DCAlumnaePanhellenic@gmail.com.

Each year, Washington, DC Alumnae Panhellenic Association (DCAPHA) awards scholarships for the following academic year.

Last year, the Association awarded two scholarships of $750. We hope to award at least the same amount of money this year, and reserve the right to determine how many scholarships will be awarded and in what amount.

The applicant eligibility criteria are as follows:

  1. Member in good standing of a fully participating sorority of the National Panhellenic Conference;

  2. Enrolled in classes beginning in Fall 2020; and

  3. From the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area or attending school in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Applications must have been received by February 29, 2020 and no late applications will be considered.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen at the Association’s discretion, based on a combination of the quality of the application, short essay, and recommendation. Incomplete applications or those not in compliance with the instructions provided may be discarded at the Association’s discretion.  Recipients will be notified by March 15, 2020.  Please send questions to dcalumnaepanhellenic@gmail.com.

Upon selection of award winners, all applications and enclosures will be destroyed. Winners will be invited to attend the Annual DC Alumnae Panhellenic Award reception at the home of one of our members in April 2020.
