Our History & Objectives
Proud recipients of the The National Panhellenic Conference Programming Excellence Award in 2023 and 2022.
This award recognizes the success of the Washington D.C. Alumnae Panhellenic in meeting the criteria of high achievement and consistent cooperation with NPC. This includes furthering sorority life by communicating with NPC and the area coordinator and providing outstanding support to the sorority experience through marketing/publicity, philanthropic involvement, scholarship and sorority education in the community.

Chartered in Bethesda, MD in 1950, the Washington, DC Alumnae Panhellenic Association has four objectives:

To foster cooperation and camaraderie among all sorority women in the greater Washington, DC area;

To promote the ideals, activities, and accomplishments of DC’s sorority alumnae;

To encourage college bound women from the greater DC area to consider sorority membership, and;

To educate prospective sorority members and their parents about college sorority life and the membership Recruitment process.
The Washington, DC Alumnae Panhellenic Association aims to serve young women from the greater DC area who wish to participate in recruitment at ANY college or university. If you will be attending one of the many colleges in the greater DC, Northern Virginia, or Maryland area, but are not from the local area, we encourage you to contact your local Alumnae Panhellenic to have references sent to the university on your behalf. Check the National Panhellenic Conference’s Website to locate your local Panhellenic.
The Washington, D.C. Alumnae Panhellenic Association is a small non-profit tax-exempt organization filing an annual 990-N return with the Internal Revenue Service.
